Barcode scanner

Packaged food is the easiest thing in the world to log wrong — the panel is per 100g, the packet is 43g, and the number you want is neither. Scanning the barcode skips all of that.

Lookup, then confirm

A scan resolves the product and shows you what it found before anything is logged. If the match is wrong, or the product is not in any database, you are one tap from entering it by hand rather than stuck.

The packet is a portion

Scanned products carry their real serving size, so "one packet" is a unit you can pick instead of a number you have to compute. Portion maths is the most common source of a wrong log, and this removes it entirely for packaged food.

Questions

Does it work offline?
The lookup needs a connection. Without one, the scan is held and you can still log the food manually.
What if the barcode is not recognised?
You are offered the create-a-food flow with the barcode already attached, so the next scan of that packet — by you or anyone — resolves immediately.
