Pacts
A pact is smaller and sharper than a challenge: you and someone else agree what you will each do, over what period, and the app holds both of you to the stated terms.
The terms are explicit
What counts, how often, and for how long are all agreed at the start. Most accountability arrangements fail because nobody wrote down what they meant.
Both sides visible
Each of you can see where the other stands. That symmetry is the mechanism — a pact you can quietly abandon is not a pact.
