Rest timer

The rest timer starts on its own the moment you complete a set, runs at the length that exercise deserves, and tells you when to go — including when your phone is locked and in your pocket.

Per-exercise, not one global number

Heavy squats and cable curls do not want the same rest. Each exercise carries its own default, which you can change, and the timer uses it automatically.

A rest of zero is a real setting, not a missing one — some exercises are meant to run straight through, and the timer respects that instead of falling back to a default.

It survives the lock screen

The countdown continues when you leave the app and finishes with an alert whether or not the app is open. Rest time is precisely when your phone goes back in your pocket, so a timer that only runs in the foreground is a timer that does not work.

Adjustable mid-rest

Add or remove time on the running timer, or skip it. Adjusting it does not change the exercise default unless you ask it to.

Questions

Does it work with the screen off?
Yes. On iOS it also drives the Live Activity, so the remaining time is readable on the lock screen without unlocking.
Can I turn it off?
Yes, globally or per exercise.

Try it

CalFitness is free to start. Rest timer is in the app from the day you install it.
