Food catalogue

The food catalogue is assembled from several sources — public reference tables, national food composition data, branded product databases — with cross-source validation instead of a blind merge.

Sources are kept, not flattened

Every food records where its numbers came from. When two sources disagree, that disagreement is something the app can detect and resolve rather than something it silently averages into a wrong figure.

Indian food is properly covered

Cooked Indian dishes and Indian composition data are in the catalogue with real household measures — katori, roti, glass — attached, because a database of raw ingredients in grams does not help anyone log a thali.

Questions

Can I correct a food?
Corrections are reviewed rather than applied directly to shared entries, and you can always create your own version.
