Live Activity

During a workout your phone spends most of its time locked. The Live Activity puts the state of the session — current exercise, set number, rest remaining — on the lock screen and in the Dynamic Island, so checking it costs a glance rather than an unlock.

Live, not a notification

The rest countdown ticks on the lock screen itself. It is the same timer as the one in the app, not a copy that drifts.

It ends when the workout does

Finishing or abandoning the session clears it. A stale Live Activity from a workout you finished two hours ago is a bug, not a feature, and is treated as one.

Questions

Is this Android too?
The lock-screen surface is iOS. Android gets an ongoing notification with the same information.
Does it drain the battery?
It runs only for the length of the workout and is torn down when the session ends.

Try it

CalFitness is free to start. Live Activity is in the app from the day you install it.
